On Jan. 1st at 4pm my time I rang in the New Year in Canada with my parents using Skype. For a brief period they were still stuck in 2008 while I was already in 2009.
Last night I met up with Mathias and Hyejeong (as well as Hyejeong's boyfriend), two friends from my time in Shanghai five years ago. We went for a delicious Korean food dinner and then out to a pub for some drinks. I don't think the elbow on my shirt is really worn like it seems in the picture...i think it might be the light from the beer glass? But then again, I am pretty raggedy looking compared to most of the women here. I'll have to take a closer look at that shirt again.
Couldn't make my camera sit on an angle, so I got a nice portrait of the table with us in the background.
