Weddings galore

Scott and I went to another wedding this past weekend, and Scott was once again the MC for the reception. It was a relatively big party, and it was a big responsibility for him, so he was glad when it was over.

Here are some pictures from the ceremony that afternoon:
Jan, the groom, and the groomsmen watching Janice, the bride, come down the aisle.
The kiss.
Bubbles instead of confetti.
After the ceremony Scott and I went for lunch with Kelvin and Connie and Chris. Then we went with Chris to hang out at a coffee shop before heading up to Grouse Mountain (where the evening reception was to take place). Lindsey joined us for a little while too. He shared the happy news that he and his wife Aileen are expecting their first child this winter. And Scott snapped a picture of the moment.
Taking the Skyride up to the peak of Grouse mountain.
The view from Lupins, the reception location.
Chris checking out the view. Scott was totally occupied getting things organized for the MC job, and we arrived an hour early, so Chris and I sorta stood around looking perhaps a little out of place as people ran around doing their various set-up duties.

The cake and head table:
They were posing for the professional photographer and I snuck along to take some shots too.
With the groom's parents.
And with more of the groom's family.
I didn't take any other pictures throughout the evening, but I got one last shot as we were about to leave and ran into the exhausted bride and groom on the way out.

Happenings

I've been madly busy with wedding planning (with Scott helping, of course). I am making jewelry for the bridesmaids to wear and, if they like what I make (I hope they will!), to keep and use again. Here's a couple designs I am playing with.

Went to Steve and Kanako's wedding ceremony at Hycroft House. Although it was overcast, it was quite warm and perfect lighting for photos. Here they are saying their wedding vows:
And just after being pronounced husband and wife:

Justin, Steve, Kanako and Darryl. (Justin and Darryl were the groomsman and best man, respectively).
Scott (the MC for the reception later on) with Justin and Darryl. Scott has known all three of these guys since elementary school. I only met them all in high school and it was crazy to think that we're getting to the marrying stage of life...can't imagine how weird it must be for them!
Stop slouching Marie!

Kanako's mother and grandmother in their lovely kimonos.
The groom and groomsmen posing for the official photographer. Rubbing the lion head.
I had to go to a previously arranged bachelorette party in Whistler that evening, so I couldn't attend the reception. Scott took a few pictures though. It was at the Blue Water Cafe and it looked really wonderful.

Here's Oscar, Steve and Kanako's french bulldog.
And a couple pictures from my night in Whistler with Denise, Theresa and Loren.
