Dorm shots

Since I am using today as a rest day and just lazing around, I went out and took a few pictures of the hallway area outside my room. Later I'll take some pictures of the building lobby and the outside and put them in another post.

When I open my door and look out, the view to my left is towards the lobby:
The view to my right is towards the communal washroom and the stairs to the next floor:
Here is the entrance to the communal washroom:
Below is the first room you see upon entering the washroom. That is a clothes washer on the left. We buy a key to use it. I think it's about 3 to 5 rmb per wash. Note that there is no hand soap supplied. Thus, it was one of the first things I bought when I arrived. When I go to the washroom, I put my roll of toilet paper and hand soap in a little basket and bring it to the washroom. Zoe's boyfriend heard about this and commented that "prisoners do the same thing with their bathroom stuff." Hah.
The doorway on the left leads to the toilet room. There is another doorway on the right that leads to the shower room.
The toilet room has five stalls. Two of the toilets are western style and three are squat style. There is no toilet paper provided.
Here's a closer look at one of the squat toilets. I always make sure I roll my pant cuffs up extra high as I don't want any part of them to touch the floor.
Here is a look at the shower room. The stalls are metal. Inside each is a little cupboard in which you can put your towels and clothing to keep them dry. I should have taken a picture of the cupboard but I forgot.
Here's a closer look inside one of the stalls:
And finally, back to my room on this cloudy afternoon. I am very much enjoying the privacy of having it to myself, since my roommate is away for the week.

Hi Marie,

Your dorm's toilet and bathroom seem a bit scary.I mean if alone. So when you bath, did your friend go with you?

You seem had a very cozy bed...Luckily your room mate seldom at dorm, then you will have your own time alone.
